A trending hot spot for world-class wines is just one hour south of the border in Baja’s Guadalupe Valley, just outside the city of Ensenada. Home to over 100 wineries and some of Mexico’s best chefs, the valley is among the world’s “Top 10 Wine Destinations” according to Wine Enthusiast, and is being called “The Napa Valley of Mexico” by USA Today.
The Ruta del Vino Bike Ride & Wine Festival combines a world-class cycling event that tours the Guadalupe Valley, along with a wine festival that pairs the region’s best wine makers with award-winning local chefs.
The Ruta del Vino Bike Ride & Wine Festival is an international cycling event through the Wine Capital of Mexico: The Guadalupe Valley, just outside of Ensenada, Baja California. Along the route you will ride past over 25 wineries in the heart of the valley, where the aroma of grapes mixes with ocean breezes and the sun permeates the picturesque rural landscape.
The event course is fully paved, covering 40.7 miles with over 1,203 feet of elevation gain. The ride is considered moderately difficult and is recommended only for cyclists in good physical condition. Minors must be accompanied at all times by an adult. The event format is both a road race and a fun ride. If you want to compete, you must register as Elite in order to be eligible for prizes.
